One-Tomoe Sharingan

The One-Tomoe Sharingan is the first stage of the Sharingan. When activated, it appears as a red iris with a single black tomoe (comma-like mark) surrounding the pupil.

At this stage, the Sharingan grants the user:

• Enhanced perception and the ability to see chakra
• Improved ability to track fast-moving objects
• Some capability to copy jutsu and predict movements

This is just the beginning of the Sharingan's power, which grows stronger as more tomoe appear.

Two-Tomoe Sharingan

The Two-Tomoe Sharingan is the second stage of the Sharingan's development. It appears as a red iris with two black tomoe marks surrounding the pupil.

At this stage, the Sharingan's abilities are further enhanced:

• Increased clarity of perception and chakra vision
• Better ability to track high-speed movements
• Improved capability to copy jutsu and predict opponent's actions
• Enhanced genjutsu resistance and casting abilities

The Two-Tomoe Sharingan represents a significant increase in power and utility compared to the One-Tomoe stage, allowing the user to perform more advanced techniques and gain a greater advantage in battle.

Three-Tomoe Sharingan

The Three-Tomoe Sharingan is the final stage of the basic Sharingan. It appears as a red iris with three evenly spaced black tomoe marks surrounding the pupil.

At this stage, the Sharingan reaches its peak form, granting the user:

• Exceptionally clear perception and advanced chakra vision
• Ability to track ultra-fast movements with great precision
• Near-perfect capability to copy jutsu and predict opponent's actions
• Powerful genjutsu abilities, both offensive and defensive
• Enhanced photographic memory and analytical skills

The Three-Tomoe Sharingan represents the mastery of the basic Sharingan abilities. It's a formidable tool in combat, espionage, and information gathering. From this point, some users may eventually awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, a more advanced and powerful form.

Mangekyō Sharingan

The Mangekyō Sharingan is a more powerful form of the Sharingan. Its appearance can differ for every individual, but it typically features a more complex pattern than the basic Sharingan.

Key features of the Mangekyō Sharingan include:

• Unique and powerful abilities specific to each user
• Enhanced genjutsu capabilities
• Access to powerful techniques like Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi
• Potential for Susanoo if both eyes awaken the Mangekyō

It's important to note that the Mangekyō Sharingan can look different for everyone, but this is especially true for those who achieve the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (EMS). The EMS is obtained by transplanting the Mangekyō Sharingan of a close relative, resulting in a unique blend of both eyes' patterns and eliminating the risk of blindness from overuse.

Byakugan

The Byakugan is a powerful eye technique that grants its users several unique abilities. Surprisingly, it's considered more powerful than the Three-Tomoe Sharingan in many aspects:

• Near 360° field of vision (except for a small blindspot at the back of the neck)
• Ability to see through solid objects and at great distances, surpassing the Sharingan's visual prowess
• Can see chakra flow and the chakra circulation system inside the body with more detail than the Sharingan
• Enhanced visual perception, allowing users to detect subtle details often missed by Sharingan users
• Ability to see in infrared, enabling detection of body heat and temperature, which the Sharingan cannot do
• No known drawbacks from extended use, unlike the Sharingan which can cause eye strain

When activated, the veins and arteries near the user's temples bulge, making them more prominent. The eyes themselves appear pure white, often described as "all-seeing white eyes". The Byakugan is essential for the Hyūga clan's Gentle Fist fighting style, allowing for precise strikes to an opponent's chakra network, which is a capability beyond even the Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
