How to Play Chessckers
Chessckers is an exciting fusion of chess and checkers, combining strategy elements from both games. Here are the basic rules:
- The game is played on a standard 8x8 chess board.
- Each player starts with 16 pieces, arranged like checkers on the first two rows.
- Pieces move diagonally forward like in checkers.
- Captures are made by jumping over opponent pieces.
- When a piece reaches the opposite end of the board, it is promoted to a "king" piece.
- King pieces can move diagonally forward or backward.
- The goal is to capture all of your opponent's pieces or block them from making any legal moves.
Special chess-inspired rules:
- Once per game, each player can perform a "castling" move, swapping two adjacent pieces on their back row.
- If a player manages to line up 5 pieces in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), they can promote one of those pieces to a "queen" which can move in any direction.
